Kind of my extended memory with thoughts mostly on Linux and related technologies. You might also find some other stuff, a bit of SF, astronomy as well as old (quantum) chemistry posts.

Another site about Free Chemistry Software
I found another interesting website about chemistry software. There is only disadvantage of Tom's Free Chemistry Software, it was stop to maintain some time ago... Anyway you can check it, there are still a lof of working links.
Another site listing chemistry software is www.medicalcomputing.net. It includes both open source (implying but free but much more than that) and commercial software and tutorials and articles on using it. For example there is a tutorial Basic Biological Chemistry with Extensible Markup Language that provides an overview of some of the basics of biological chemistry with hands on work with relevant software and real data.
